Tha god fahim drops a new project like once a week. With that, it’s really hard to keep up with all the new material; how does one write so much??? in “solar lottery” he wagers it’s because he hit the rap genetic lotto.

your best friend jippy creates a spacey atmosphere with the production. When played consecutively, fahim’s raps over the samples and loops run like excerpts of an astronauts space log. like.. if the astronaut was also a rapper. And if the spaceship had a Akai MPC60 hooked up.

The combination here isn’t super flashy but is certainly full of moments that stick for the active listener; it’s contemporary and crisp, prioritizing strong hip-hop fundamentals. Jippy is the dj that sets the stage and fahim is the mc—commanding your attention with stylized rhymes and personality. Some of my favorite lyrics from this one:

“It’s hard to move fluid when your mind’s polluted, ego to the side to be a great student”

“They sending me mail saying when I rap I give em hope, I’m the true living definition of being dope.”

“i’m representing for the ancestors, we overcame the pressure of oppressors, treat life like it’s precious cause it is, pass the knowledge to the kids, so they can be better. You get out what you give and we won’t live forever.”
