This mixtape was one of my top listens of 2025.
It’s so northeast in all the right ways. less concerned about ~vibe~ and more about pushing the envelope; progressing the genre. being a mixtape, papaholic vol. 1 is full of short songs that have little to no relation, but papo and subjxct uses this to debut their approach like tasteful scientists. there's tons of fun experiments, rarely leaving a dull moment.
Papo2oo4’s voice gives the infamous and recent pop smoke, with writing that often mirrors 50 cent's sensibilities. it makes for this really nice mix of NY drill with bling-era anthems. along with that, subjxct 5 delivers production that consistently brings something new and fun out of what's already familiar! it's a real treat.
