this album is addicting in a girlypop hairbrush mic kinda way
natanya’s inspirations are clear, but it doesn’t make the sound any less refreshing. late 90s / early 2000s heavyweights of pop & r&b shine bright here along with undoubtable pull for the modern scene.
the subject matter is also everything you'd expect from an r&b project, but natanya's writing provides a kind of special endearment to the formula. interactions are described in short-form fragments—not getting too crazy with complexity, and as a result: the stories are both vivid and digestable.
performing at parties, daydreaming in the moonlight, toiling over her purpose while relationships leer. these common themes become a stage for natanya, where she performs flawlessly.
god forbid you give me a bedazzled mirror on a crisp tuesday night to sing along to this... finna act up over some imaginary boy that does't understand ima be at madison square garden one day..
