This is a Brazilian label. Why was a Brazilian label releasing mostly english-speaking soul compilations in the 90s????
I have no idea, but I love it! Tons of overall warm and lowkey cuts. great for easy listening and lovey-dovy-dove time with ya boo. there's lots of unexpectedly huge names here too, like freddie jackson and johnny gill to name a few (which are already huuuge 80s/90s heavyweights in the black community). i don't know why "you are my lady" is on here but i'm really not mad at it LOL
I have the CDs for both, and i'd say the sequencing is really nice. there's no random mood shifts or any urge to skip to a "favorite" song. it's just nice~
also, also, exceptional for low-risk sampling. These projects have barely really been touched on streaming, so to all daring producers/beatmakers reading this, chop it uppp!!
