reggie is such an interesting artist. he's been dropping standout singles and features for a while now, with little to no mention of an album.
these singles, "southside fade," "aint gon stop me," and "I don't wanna feel no more" to name a few—are personal favorites! they're super heartfelt and got that soulful feel to them. blending hip-hop and r&b well in all the ways I'm accustomed to, with no complaints. with an album finally being teased, i was seeeething for more of this.
alas, 2026, undra is nothing I expected and more.
reggie shows his multitudes with each song displaying different sides of his sound. it runs like an audition with himself. on one track he's one character, on another he's another—and it feels the most vulnerable he's ever been. stories make their way into sonics with little concern for the shape they'll end with. be yourself, show yourself, and it'll be alright.
this makes for a charcuterie of a listen, which is engaging, but leaves me expecting something thematically tighter over a longer runtime. For the next release—if this is a declaration for being yourself within your music, i hope that what follows is a story created while being yourself within your music. living out the new era being previewed.
